Football Update: Atletico Madrid vs. Racing Santander – Match Review (Part 3)
The player who was up front along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Costa-c11116 was not only
less skilful, in fact his finishing abilities were horrific compared to that of Diego Forlan who would barely miss the target inside the penalty area.
The first real chance for the visiting side came just before the half time whistle was blown. It was Kennedy Bakircioglu who took the free kick won by them outside the danger zone. Kennedy made sure he finds the target as his free kick curled towards the
bottom right corner of the goal. However, the young Spanish goal stopper David De Gea made sure that he denies the former Ajax player the goal that he was looking for as he flicked the ball out to safety.
With the second half starting in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Markus-Rosenberg-c24251 found the ball at his feet after
a great ball from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 made sure that he grabs the ball in order to keep his team alive
in the game.
After this shot on goal, many expected that the game would turn excited. However, they saw the opposite as it went back to its slow pace. The visitors started to defend deep into their own half in order to maintain the score line so they can take a point
away from home. Almost twenty minutes of the second half saw Atletico Madrid keeping possession and trying to find a way past the visitors’ defence while Racing were busy defending in their own half. There were a couple of chances that the Los Colchoneros
got during those twenty minutes but they were barely any threat for Tono who was simply having an extraordinary night. However, the home side were trying to make all the opportunities count but the Racing Santander goalkeeper was simply nullifying their affect
by his superb goalkeeping.
