Football Update: Barcelona – 7 days of Activities in Asia
Currently the best club of the Spanish League, Barcelona, are planning to leave for their Asian tour on Sunday. The tour is going to include a few pre-season matches along with a few advertisements and commercial shoots along with various institutional duties. Even though the Spanish club’s players are going to be far away from their home, their manager Pep Guardiola is definitely going to make sure that everything is in order when it comes down to his player’s health exercises.
The players are going to be in South Korea and China to play the pre-seasons, but many of the first team players might not be a part of the pre-season matches. Pep Guardiola has already taken in many young players for the pre-season matches as most of his players were a part of the FIFA World Cup 2010. 8 of the first-team players were in the squad of the Spanish side that actually won the final match of the FIFA World Cup 2010, against the Dutch. Therefore, most of the first-team players are on a holiday but they will definitely be a part of the trip because of the institutional and commercial agenda.
Just like all other tours, this tour is going to be marking a few commercials and institutional duties for the first team. Like on previous tours, FC Barcelona will be combining football with other duties. There are activities scheduled in association with Nike and Audi, both involving the first team of the club, which include the stars Lionel Messi and Carlos Puyol. The club’s new sponsor, Herbalife, is also going to breakthrough, as they want the team to feature for their brand. Lionel Messi is going to be meeting up with vulnerable children in Seoul, as it is an activity promoted by Herbalife, the new sponsor of the Spanish Club, Barcelona. On the other hand, the Catalan tourism board is going to take advantage of Barcelona’s presence in Asia, as they are going to organize a series of joint events that will feature the team and the Catalan tourism, together.
Barcelona are going to travel through Turkish Airlines, as they are the new sponsors of the club. This is the first time the team is going to travel in this airline, as they are the new sponsors for them. The last time the Barcelona team travelled with the same company was for the final match of the Club’s World Cup, which took place in Abu Dhabi.
The flight to Seoul is going to take 12 hours and as the team reaches the Korean capital, they will be transferred to their hotel. Later they will give a press conference ahead of the fixture with the K-League All Star team. The first training session for the Barcelona youngsters is going to take place in the afternoon.
On the 3rd of August, the activity for the Barcelona stars is going to be even more intense. They are going to have two training sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The sessions are going to take place in the Sangam World Cup Stadium, where they are going to play their first game on Wednesday. It kicks off at on August 4 at 20.00 (at 13.00, CET). The club’s coach, Guardiola plans for a training session on the day of the match, but no one is too sure just yet.
With that game finished, Barcelona will be jetting off to China with their young squad, where they have a busy schedule. On Thursday, there are going to be present at a press conference just before the match against the local team called Guoan FC.
Unless there are any late changes, Guardiola is planning for 6 training sessions before the match they are going to play in Beijing. The match is going to take place in the Bird’s Next Olympic Stadium. There will be two long training sessions every day, according to the team’s coach; and then the team is going to prepare for their second match against Guoan at (CET 14:00). Once the game comes to an end, Barcelona’s squad is going to head back home, as they are going to return to Barcelona during the small hours of Monday morning.
The time difference between Seoul and Barcelona is 7 hours and with Beijing, it is 6 hours.
