Football Update: Barcelona vs. Levante – Match Review (Part 5)
It was like a Barcelona monologue. The Spanish Champions moved forward and decided to take all their chances on goal. It was target practicing for Levante’s goalkeeper who was definitely finding it hard to on Barcelona’s strikers. During one patch of the
game, Barcelona were totally going at it time and again, as they grew frustrated and won series of corners. During those corners taken, the Spanish Champions made each and every one count as Xavi Hernandez delivered them perfectly into the 18 yard box and
the Catalans kept on trying on Reina’s goal. However, Reina was there to prove that he is a goalkeeper who would not concede a goal easily.
The second half started and grew just a minute old when the Spanish Champions finally made a great breakthrough. Levante hung on brilliantly throughout the first half as Barcelona were coming at them time and time again but they denied them the chance. However,
in the second half, the La Blaugrana made their efforts count and it was their first attack during the second minute when Pedro Rodriugez took the opportunity to score the goal that was required from him. The in-form Spanish striker finished off a move that
was started by the Brazilian full back Daniel Alves from the right flank and then it was continued by Xavi Hernandez who was playing the 529th game with Barcelona – the highest number of games played by any Barcelona player. With Xavi giving the
ball back to Daniel Alves and the Brazilian passing it towards Pedro Rodriguez, the Spanish youngster tried his luck on goal and it worked as he got it past Reina to score the first goal of the game.
The first goal gave the home team the breathing space that they required. With a rather tense affair in the first half, they managed to find the back of the net in the second half and then it was simple for them to move forward. Later, a very similar move
helped Pedro score his second of the night. The Spaniard was right on the tip of the 18 yard box when Daniel Alves delivered the ball to him and he took his chances on goal and found the back of the net as the ball was shot on the top right corner. The fans
started to enjoy it then as Barcelona finally started to score goals – something they were expected to do especially after an all-win 10 Spanish La Liga fixtures.
