Football Update: Barclays Premier League- Arsenal and Aston Villa- Review of the News
ARSENAL
The legendary manager of the Gunners, Arsene Wenger, feels that his team is mentally stronger to handle the challenging demands of winning the English Football title.
Arsenal played their free-flowing short passing football in a three nil win over Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s Stadium. However, it was also Birmingham City’s second loss at home this season, Everton were the only team before Arsenal, which won at St.
Andrew’s Stadium this season.
Arsenal manager believes the growing maturity of Arsenal players means they are well equipped to face the rigorous of Premier League for the rest of the season.
Arsene Wenger said: "We are tougher mentally this season because we have matured. Players are now in the 23-years-of-age bracket and starting to get experience. What they are doing is outstanding at that age. They want to win and they have learnt from
the previous years. It is down to mental stamina now."
Arsenal have a daunting task ahead of them as they will play second placed Manchester City on Wednesday at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have already defeated Manchester City this season by three goals to nil at City of Manchester Stadium.
Arsenal are currently placed 3rd in the Barclays Premier League standings with 39 points to their credit out of 20 league games. Moreover, the Gunners are only two points short of tonight’s opponent’s Manchester City and league leaders, Manchester
United.

Before this Chelsea draw, Aston Villa were defeated by Tottenham and Manchester City, and Friedel believes that this draw will help his team move away from relegation zone.
"It's a massive point. We've been in such a bad run of form we needed something and it's great to get it at Stamford Bridge. We went down 3-2 and all credit to the lads. We've got over what I thought was a poor penalty decision against us at the start
and we've fought back and hopefully this will kick-start our season and we can get back up the table."
Aston Villa are currently placed 17th in the Barclays Premier League standings with 21 points to their name out of 20 league games. The Villans will play their next match against Sunderland on Wednesday at Villa Park.
