Football Update: Barclays Premier League- Arsenal vs. Chelsea- Gunners wipe off the blues 3-1
The game between Arsenal and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, two of the top teams of English Football, was anticipated by any. Due to Chelsea’s recent record, many speculated that this year’s London Derby would be won by Arsenal, but many did not believe that they could thrash
the other Londoners with a 3-1 victory.
On six minutes, a beautifully flighted ball over the top from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 went straight onto Robin Van Persie’s foot, but the Dutchman’s control let him down and the ball went behind for a goal kick. While it was not the most aesthetic of football moments,
it set the rhythm for the half.
The Gunners’ efforts finally paid off when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-c4885 Song Bilong broke the dead lock, by scoring the first goal of the game, in the last minutes of the first half (44’). Cesc Fabregas doubled the lead in the 51st minute brilliantly and within
2 minutes, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 showed his control over the ball and put it in the net. By this time, the Arsenal fans were roaring with cheers to support their team. Four minutes later Drogba caused mayhem for Arsenal’s defence when he took a free-kick which was
rebounded to Branislav Ivanovic’s head, who powerfully sent it over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukasz-Fabianski-c22910 as the keeper looked to clear. Suddenly Chelsea could be seen fighting back hard, but unfortunately for the blues the Gunners’ defence could not be penetrated.
Ancelotti’s men would have been relieved as Mark Clattenburg blew for full-time because Wenger’s boys were in total control of the game and were looking to increase the lead even towards the end of the game. Ancelotti is no doubt under immense pressure after
this game and needs to do much better if he wants to stay with the team. Roman Abramovich, the owner of the club is known for his ruthless when it comes to performing badly. Luiz Felipe Scolari saw the owner’s evil side and lasted only seven months after
his team performed very weakly for several games in a row.
Chelsea really needs to get on their toes and work hard if they want to finish at a decent position in this season. They started brilliantly and many thought, by Christmas, they would be way ahead leading the table, unfortunately tables turned and the blues
are facing immense problems which need to be fixed before they face Manchester United.
