Football Update: Barclays Premier League- Blackpool and Everton
 BLACKPOOL
Blackpool manager feels that his team’s latest defeat at Bloomfield against Birmingham City would have given the Seasiders’ faithful a reality check. Blackpool, who were in the top half of the table, crashed against the team which was in the relegation battle.
Birmingham scored the first goal at the Bloomfield Road, however, the home side equalised just before the half time whistle. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Dann-c32662 scored in the dying minutes of the match to crush the hopes of Blackpool fans.
Now, Ian believes that the defeat would have opened Blackpool fans eyes and said:
"It is a tad disappointing all-round, but I think that is a reality check for everybody who came here in a Tangerine shirt looking at the league position and our games in hand. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter who we are playing in this division - they
have got quality, and we have gone and lost again at home.”
He continued: “That is the first time we haven't played as well as we can, and we were still in it right until the end, so I still think that is a progression. But we have half the season to go, we have got 25 points on the board and we have done absolutely
nothing yet."
With that home defeat, Blackpool slumped back to the bottom half of the table and they are now placed 13th in the league standings with 25 goals to their name out of 19 matches.
Blackpool’s next match is a FA Cup tie against a Championship side, Southampton. However, Ian Holloway’s men will host Liverpool for their next Premier League match.

EVERTON
The Toffees manager has hailed his players’ performance in a two one win over Tottenham Hotspurs at the Goodison Park last Wednesday.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 opened the scoring for the home side in third minute - his first goal in this season. The talismanic midfielder of Tottenham Hotspurs, Rafael van der Vaart, equalised after the 10th minute mark and Seamus Coleman scored the final goal
of the match in 79th minute to give Everton three crucial points.
David Moyes was delight with the result and said: "It was a brilliant game, I really enjoyed it as well. Tonight it was all action, we made lots of opportunities, we missed some chances, they did as well. But I think anybody who has watched Tottenham
this year, I've been really impressed by the way they've played and they've done it again tonight. But I thought we just topped them, we matched them and lucky enough we got that one goal more than them."
The win over Spurs took David Moyes’ team to 11th place in the table, and they have managed to get 25 league points out of 21 games. Everton will play third round tie of FA Cup against a Championship side, Scunthorpe United, this weekend.
However, Everton’s next Premier League match is against their city rivals Liverpool. Everton have already triumphed against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in this season of Barclays Premier League. Everton scored twice and kept a clean sheet against their fierce rivals back
in October.
