Football Update: Chelsea and Manchester City looking to act upon Pep Guardiola's comments for Daniel Alves
Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly readying their cheque books, in hopes to launch bids for Barcelona's Brazilian wing-back Daniel Alves. Both the teams are looking to capitalize the small window of opportunity that has been opened thanks to Pep
Guardiola's latest comments, which state that Alves could very well be on his way out of the Camp Nou.
The Brazilian's current contract with the team expires in the summers of 2012, but if things go according to the reports that have recently started to surface, then the player could well be on his way out of the team within the next week.
Pep Guardiola is reported to have said: “We have talked about it with Dani, I told him how I feel, and I do not want him to stay here while he is unhappy”

”He deserves to ask for what he wants, and the club has the right to give it, or not. I want him to be happy here, or anywhere.”
Once the managers comments came to surface, a vast number of football experts came forth to state that Barcelona could well be on the look out for a new wing-back.
However if that is the case, then this news could prove to be music to the ears of two of the biggest teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City have been linked to the player in the past, but it seems like they might finally step up their pursuit
for Alves now.
Chelsea are currently having problems of their own with Jose Bosingwa, with the player due to extend his contract with the team – which is set to run out in the summers. On the other hand, the Blues have also failed in their attempt to land Diego Godin and
could see this opportunity to be like a match made in heaven, to fix their defensive frailties, by landing one of the best fullbacks in the business.
However, they could face some stiff competition from the likes of Manchester City, who are more than likely to make a move for the Brazilian, but not because they need to, but because they can.
Nonetheless, if Alves is to choose to make a move out of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, then it is as good as assured that he would give up the Barcelona strip, for a blue one.
