Football Update: Chelsea on the Verge of Signing Dutch Youngster Nathan Ake
Defending champions Chelsea are all set to sign Nathan Ake from Feyenoord after agreeing to a deal with the Eredivise side. The 15 year old Dutch youngster is one of Europe’s most exciting upcoming talents and was being monitored by the other top Premier
League sides, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, the Blues seem to have won the race of acquiring the youngster, ahead of the other English Premier League side. The youngster himself seems to have made his mind about a move away from Feyenoord and has his heart set on the London side. Chelsea
will be more than happy to welcome Ake at Stamford Bridge, with the way things are currently going.
Leo Beenhakker, the Feyenoord manager was not too pleased with the fact that the youngster had agreed to move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. He said he was not impressed with the tactics employed by the Premier League clubs when they tried to steal away youngsters from their
clubs. However, Beenhakker said they couldn’t do anything since the player wanted the move.
He said, “I've discussed this matter with Nathan and his parents. He told me that he really wanted to move Chelsea and his parents were OK with his decision. I was impressed with Nathan's determination at such a young age, but it's obviously bad news
for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258. We can't do anything about it if a foreign club comes up to sign one of our youngsters.”
Despite Ake making up his mind to join the Blues, the Feyenoord manager had nice things to say about the player. He was somewhat disappointed the player had decided to part ways with the Eredivise club. He spoke of how most of the European sides did not
indulge in these activities, but he made it a point to mention the Premier League sides which had made it a habit to snap up young talent.
He admitted his disappointment of Ake leaving the club and blame the English side for that, he said,
“It's driving me crazy that hot prospects are walking away from us like this. The Premier League clubs spoil the market with their behavior. Other clubs in Europe aren't doing this kind of thing, but the English sides just don't care.”
