Football Update: Dalglish unsure of Liverpool’s January transfer plans
Liverpool caretaker manager Kenny Dalglish has admitted that he is not sure whether the club will spend some cash in the January transfer window to bring in new faces. There have been all sorts of rumours linking Liverpool with nearly every striker on the
planet.
Since Carragher’s injury and poor form of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Poulsen-c9114, Liverpool are reportedly in the market for a centre back, a left back and a central midfielder.
However, Liverpool’s lack of width has been badly exposed this season and they have been heavily linked with Aston Villa’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eljero-Elia-c12318.
Kenny Dalglish was named as the manager just before their clash with Manchester United; however, his start has not gone according to plan. After getting knocked out of the F.A Cup by their fiercest rivals, Liverpool lost yet again on the road to Blackpool
this time – who have actually completed the double over five time European champions.
These results have again indicated that Liverpool’s squad lacks quality and reinforcements are desperately required. However, Dalglish has distanced himself with questions regarding transfers and stated that is he is unsure about the club’s plan for January
transfer window.
"I'm sure they'll improve but whether there's going to be any players coming in or moving around I don't know. I can always make a request; it might not always be accepted. “Said Kenny Dalglish.
Kenny Dalglish was adamant that he is happy with the players at his disposal and that he can get them playing at a much higher level than at the one they are currently playing. He also said that he hasn’t asked the owners for money to bring in new players.
"I've never breached the subject with money being available with the owners. If there is the possibility of bringing somebody in we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. At the moment I've not asked for anybody and I've not enquired for finances."
Liverpool manager told the reporters.
Kenny is back into management after a break of over a decade and believes it’s a big challenge but said that are no jobs available at the moment, without challenges. He admitted that the players are suffering from a lack of confidence and he and his staff
can do a lot in terms of getting that confidence back.
He pointed out to the mistakes Liverpool made in their recent defeat to Blackpool and believes that those mistakes can be rectified.
"We just have to work a bit on our final pass, but we're never going to accept defeats as a positive result for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 - we have higher ambitions than that," he said.
"It doesn't disappoint me when players' belief in themselves is not as great as it should be, it's understandable. They want to do better and that reflects well on the football club.”
Dalglish believes that the players should be prepared to go all the way and their effort should be there for everyone to see. He said that harsh words from him will be directed towards those players who do not show true commitment and lack desire to play
for the club; however, it is highly unlikely that such players are found amongst the current lot.
Liverpool take on their cross city rivals Everton in their next Premier League game. Even though the game is at anfield there is tremendous pressure on Liverpool players to get a result at the weekend so that they move up the table and not towards the relegation
zone.
