Diego Maradona, the Argentinean footballer legend and the 2010 World Cup national team coach, apparently enjoyed his national side coaching stretch so much that he is currently looking to continue that as a career path.
Maradona has targeted Aston Villa and wants to be the next replacement for Martin O’Neil, as Aston Villa’s next boss.
This was a rare move made by the forty nine year old, as normally people don’t tend to publically announce requests on where they want to go.
One of the most beloved players in Argentina and one of the greatest football players of all time, the Argentinean legend Diego Maradona is at the moment looking for work, ever since Argentina’s early Elimination from the World Cup.
The forty nine year old Diego’s European representative, Walter Soriano has claimed that he is in talks with numerous clubs and a move to Europe may be the next thing in Maradona’s path.
Even though Argentina got eliminated very early in the World Cup tournament and they were throttled out of the running by Germany, there is still a lot of faith left in Maradona.
His vast experience on the field, both as a player and a football coach are crucial elements needed in a good boss.
Shortly after the end of the World Cup, Diego Maradona left the job of managing the National Argentinean team. Currently he has his plate empty and wants a move to the English League.
Though the fact remains that Diego Maradonna’s reputation would always be scarred in England because of his infamous “Hand of God” against the English national team in the 1986 World Cup.
Still Maradona’s representative, Soriano insists that Maradona is open to an approach from Randy Lerner, the Aston Villa owner.
In a press conference, Soriano commented on the matter to the media, by saying that he thinks that Maradona would be very open to the idea of moving to England.
Maradona wants to manage Aston Villa and become a part of the English Premier League.
His agent continued on by saying that Maradona is attracted to the English way of life and is attracted to the country.
Soriano continued by saying that he is sure Maradona would be interested in moving to England, as he loves the English countryside.
In addition, another thing that he pointed out was how impressed Maradona is by the respect of privacy there is in England, so Diego would be happy there.
Maradona is concerned in managing a bug club like Aston Villa and right now, if he receives a serious offer he might take it.
Despite the fact, that Maradona’s European Agent Soriano has claimed that he has received offers from various clubs and even a few in England.
The representative’s quote on the matter in the press conference was "If the owner Randy Lerner wants to make him a serious offer, I am sure he would get a very positive response.”
He continued by saying that Maradona is currently in discussion with a number of clubs in Europe and wants a major management role and is going through his options carefully.
Lerner is currently searching for a new permanent manager for his team at Villa Park, ever since Martin O’Neil quit the club only days before the start of the Premier League Season.
Kevin MacDonald the assistant coach has temporarily taken charge ever since Martin O’Neil left and in that leave Aston Villa won a convincing victory against West Ham with a score of 3-0.
Undoubtedly, Maradona’s management history with the Argentinean national team has been very impressive with fourteen wins against just five losses, Maradona still does not stop to amaze the masses.
