Football Update: EPL News- Liverpool vs. Blackpool – Preview (Part 2)
Currently Torres is facing trouble to get rolling like he used to, having scored just once in his 8 English Premier League appearances. However, most of the Liverpool goals have occurred because of his assistance and that bodes as a positive sign in the
player’s recovery.
In Liverpool’s last match against FC Utrecht, Hodgson had given the task to shine and inspire Liverpool to a victory however; his performance was lack lustrous yet again. The Spaniard experienced a frustrating game as Liverpool midfield proved to be too
dull and boring. However, as Holloway and his men travel to Anfield they understand that the Torres can not be underestimated.
In a press release, Holloway praised the player saying, “He has had some injuries and I think he is one of the best centre-forwards in the world.”
On Torres’ injuries, Holloway sympathized, “When you get in little ruts like this it is difficult for any player, particularly for one of the best players in the world, to deal with those ups and downs.”
Holloway said that he admires the player’s capabilities, “I think he has been an absolute sensation since he joined Liverpool and I'm in awe of him really because as a centre-forward, he has got everything.”
The 47 year old Holloway also expressed the reasons why Torres should be feared,
“He has got blinding pace and he can finish with his left, right or head. He is a total threat, a goal machine, and they are allowed to go off the boil every now and again.”
He added, “The cream always rises to the top, although I don't want him to do that on Sunday. Hopefully his lack of form will continue against us, but I don't believe that for one minute.”
For Liverpool, this has been a very unpredictable season that is reminiscing of the previous one. They have had a poor start to their campaign. These have been a result of the financial troubles, injuries, management issues, poor leadership and sheer bad
luck. Currently it is apparent that it might take some time for the Scouse warriors to stand back up without shaky legs.
Holloway has stated that he believes the Liverpool FC will survive through their difficult times and rejuvenate as a better club. He also said that he wanted the club to help them give an entertainment filled time at the field so that they and their fans
could enjoy.
“They have got all sorts of problems off the field which don't help any football club and they need to get resolved for them to be the force that they need to be,” stated Holloway while talking to media.
He also added that, “It is not that they want to be - they need to be, for their supporters, and I have got no doubt that will be the case in the future. But we have got to do our utmost to not let it be the case on Sunday.”
On his match strategy he hinted, “Sometimes when you attack, it is the best form of defence because you can probe and hurt their weaknesses. I think that is what we are better at. Any team who goes out on any football pitch should actually try to throw
some punches and score some goals.”
He added, “I don't care whether it is at home or away - there are still three points to play for. Our fans need entertaining and so do the Liverpool fans.”
