Football Update: EPL Transfer: Manchester United refusing to extend Owen Hargreaves's contract
Latest news from Old Trafford has revealed that the talented but unfortunate English international, Owen Hargreaves will quit from his present club Manchester United, by the end of this season.
This sad news for the fans of Red Devils came out, after a board and management meeting decided that there is no future for Hargreaves, with Manchester United. Manchester United are forced to face this loss as the player is suffering from a chronic injury,
which has seen his form deteriorate with time. Now they will have to find a replacement for him in the next transfer window. Reliable sources have informed that once a legend, Hargreaves is out of favour in the eyes of Sir Alex Ferguson, after his continuous
injuries. The Source also confirmed that Ferguson is unwilling to extend Hargreaves’ contract, which will end with the end of this summer.
Hargreaves is suffering from tendonitis and the player is constantly endangered to injuries. He has been out of action for nearly two years and when he came back at the start of this season, he got himself injured again, after playing for just five minutes
on the pitch. At the moment, Hargreaves is nursing his hamstring injury in Germany. He has been receiving special medical care for some time now which has forced many fans to admit that Hargreaves might not be making a comeback on field.
Ferguson acquired Hargreaves, from Bayern Munich in 2007, for 18 million pounds. However, just after a season the player started having injury issues which saw him being benched more than a secondary player. In the two years that he has been out of action,
Hargreaves has had two major operations on both of his knees and after a long time period of rehab and recovery, the player was set to return this season. In the match against Wolves, which saw his latest injury this November, one can’t label Ferguson of being
callous to the midfielder, as the player had indeed taken his time to make his return on field. United have been paying Hargreaves 70,000 pounds a week, which has been amounting quite a lot of money, for a player who has barely featured.
