Football Update: Jeffren: “I will play for Spain and Barcelona!”
Football fans from all around the world saw how the Barcelona youngsters held the trophy after an exciting season in the Spanish La Liga. Barcelona, without a doubt, has one of the best youth academies in the world, for Football. Barcelona was able to provide most of the players that were playing in the first team during the FIFA World Cup 2010.
The German club, Bayern Munich came second, right after Barcelona, to provide most of the players for the FIFA World Cup 2010. Barcelona’s youth team is definitely the best team in the world at the moment, as they are showing the world in the under 19’s tournament. They pass the ball around well and they have already qualified for the semi finals.
There are many “big names” that the Spanish Club, Barcelona has created. One of them is the Argentinean magician, Lionel Messi. He is currently known as the best footballer in the world, as he won the award during his run in 2009 and 2010. The club also won 6 trophies during their 2008 – 2009 seasons. This year round they were able to win the Spanish La Liga, even though they could not get their hands on many trophies. Players like Carles Puyol, Gerrard Pique and even Cesc Fabregas, came from Barcelona’s youth team and they are definitely great players for their teams. Barcelona sent 8 of their players for the Spanish squad. One of them was David Villa, who is recently signed by Barcelona from his former club, Valencia. David Villa scored 5 out of 8 goals that Spain scored. 2 came from Andres Iniesta as Carles Puyol scored 1. Still, the fact cannot go unnoticed that all the goals that the Spanish side scored, they were scored by Barca players.
At the moment, many youngsters in Barcelona are trying to make a name for them. Players like Bojan Krkic, Pedro Rodriguez, Sergio Busquets and Jeffren are the ones who are full of talent and will definitely get a chance to play for the Spanish club.  Pedro Rodriguez was a part of the Spaniard’s first team and players like Cesc Fabregas and David Silva were left on the bench by the Spanish coach. Pedro managed to impress many by playing as a right perfect right winger. David Villa managed to impress everyone as he almost scored in every match that he played. He scored 5 goals during the FIFA World Cup and showed Barcelona that they have won themselves a goal scoring machine. Another young player is Sergio Busquets. Even though Busquets is not the man who would want to go forward to score goals, he plays as a holding midfielder and is the perfect person to be there. He completed most number of passes after his team-mate, Xavi Hernandez, who is also a Barcelona player.
Just like these players, Jeffren is also a Barcelona player who thinks that this year round he will definitely get a place in the squad. He is well aware of the competition that exists in the team, with players like Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Lionel Messi, David Villa and Ibrahimovic; Jeffren believes that he going to get a chance in the Barcelona team.
This is Jeffren’s second season after he was brought into the first team. He said that he did not expect so much game time in the last season but he did get it, and just like last season, he still expects himself to be on the pitch for his club, Barcelona.
He explained that his pre-season chances are great as well. He is definitely going to perform for the club, so that they can see what he is made of. He scored a goal during the club world cup, which he described as his “best moment.” That single goal helped Barcelona advance to the final of the Club World Cup, which they eventually won to win the trophy. He takes Pedro Rodriguez as the “best example.” He thinks he is going to be a player like him one day. Pedro is a young Barcelona player who got a place in the Spanish first team and Jeffren expects the same.
