Football Update: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 not as strong as they once were
Chelsea who are currently being put through one of the worst spells in the Premier League are looking to not be on their way up anytime soon. This is because the team’s captain John Terry has become the latest player to go on and state that the team is no
longer as strong as they once were.
This is because the team has gone throughout December without winning a single match so far and don’t look to be on the way to winning any games, any time soon. Most experts believe that the dip in form can be linked directly to the absence of Terry, Frank
Lampard and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294.
Terry is reported to have said: "We've missed some key players at key times and it is a case of keeping everyone fit now over the Christmas period, where we have two games in three days"
"In the past, we had a big squad and could rotate and put other players in. We don't have that now."
Chelsea in the past were reputed for having one of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/The-Strongest-c40725 squads in the English League, however a change in policies and management at the club has lead to the team now favouring more youngsters, rather than bringing in talented well established players.
Terry also pointed out that the team seems to have lost direction over the course of the last few weeks; however, it seems like with the youngsters now coming into the side, will be picking up form sooner or later. He also went on to add that despite the
recent bad performances, the team is still going to stick together and hope to strive for better results in the future.
Terry then added: "We have quite a young squad and it's a time for everyone to stay together like we always will.” "Once we've turned that corner, we can move on from there and wait for other teams to slip up, which they will do."
Chelsea next take on Arsenal will be on Monday night, in a game that will be a real test for both the teams. If Chelsea can manage to overcome their slump and beat Arsenal, then it would be safe to say that the team is finally back on track. However if the
team manages to end their season with another loss, then there might be a lot of work to do in the Chelsea camp for the future.
It is now going to be a wait till Monday night to see what the future holds in store for the rampant Blues.
