Football Update: Manchester City Stephen Ireland suffers injury set back
Former Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland has been ruled out of action owing to a knee concern and would be out of first team training for at least a week.

Ireland has been complacent and irritated since
his arrival at Villa Park and Houllier has already confirmed that he may well have to off-load the player in the summer transfer market.
Manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Houllier advised the player to keep working hard on his form and fitness and has not featured for the Villans since late November. It is now confirmed that Ireland would not be available for action following his knee concern suffered while
training. That means that Ireland would not take part in tomorrow’s midlands derby.

However, there is good news on the injury front for Villa as well as in form full back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luke-Young-c22938 has returned to first team training. Young suffered an injury which ruled him out of first team football for nearly a month. The manager confirmed that the
player has returned to the first team and may well be available for the midlands derby to be played tomorrow.
However, Young would have to prove his form for Houllier to confirm his place in the team, as the manager has snapped up Tottenham youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Walker-c21566 on loan.
Aston Villa face an important fixture against Birmingham City tomorrow, as both sides would be looking for a win. A victory for either side would bolster their chances of getting out of the relegation zone. Birmingham needs to feed off the energy from the
home crowd and take advantage of the tricky conditions at St James.
