It was Manchester City’s chance to go top of the premier league when they took over a lowly Wolverhampton Wanderers. City put forward an all attacking formation with newly signed Edin Dzeko making his first start for the citizens.
Surprisingly, however, it was Wolves who managed an early lead, thanks to some impressive play from Milijas. It was Doyle who should be credited for making the goal as the player held the ball before releasing it to Jarvis on the right flank. Jarvis then
managed a cross which led to Milijas taking a strong shot at goal. Hart saved it but it rebounded back into for Milijas, who then hit the back of the empty net. It was not the start City was hoping for but the side then started to really take the game to the
visitors.
At the 20th minute, Tevez looked up and fired for the far corner from the edge of the box but his effort was just over the bar!. It looked as though it took a touch of a defender, but the referee gave a goal kick.
At the 31st minute, Johnson got into the box with a couple of stepovers and fired low for the near post but it was saved by Hennessey. Things really looked better for Man City, who had really started to attack the game.
Wolves may have been two up on the 40th minute when Fletcher was in the box and played the ball back for Jarvis. It was Kolarov’s heroics that saved the day as he dived in to block the shot. City’s hard work finally paid off in the 42nd
minute, when Kolo Toure found the equalising goal. The player managed a good shot at the far post. The goal keeper got a hand to it but it bounced off David Jones and into the net.
City would be disappointed by the way they have played the first half. With so much attacking force in the team, they really need to get things going now and find more goals in order to finish their opposition off. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952, however, have to be credited for
being fearless and have played their own game. The side has been creative whenever they had the ball and we look forward to an interesting 2nd half.
