Football Update: “No humiliation for Real Madrid”, says Jose Mourinho
Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho denied the fact that his team was humiliated after Real’s defeat at Camp Nou, this Monday at Nov 29, 2010. FC Barcelona was in a splendid form and Lionel Messi was the difference between the two rivals. According to Jose Mourinho, his team didn’t play to their potential and that should not be the defining moment for the current season, because no one knows what’s ahead of his team. In a public appearance, when he was asked about the humiliating defeat, he replied,
“Yes it was a loss but no humiliation.”
Barca played some exceptional football when Xavi grabbed the first opportunity to goal. He was followed by Pedro, strenghtning the lead, David Villa putting the ball twice in the net and the substitute Jeffren, finishing things at the end. Lionel Messi was the only player Barcelona was heavily dependent on. This was the worst defeat of the legendary football manager, Jose Mourinho. He hasn’t conceded more than four goals in a 90 minute play, as Real Madrid did not show its true colors. It was an eye opener for Real Madrid and the worst nightmare, losing to Barcelona. Mourinho added,
“Championship has not ended today and we are scheduled for some more games to play this season. Following the leaders on the points table, we are just two points behind them. Barcelona made the game much easier for them after scoring the first goal so early. When a team loses by 5 goals, they can’t end up crying. We know our potential and we’ll work hard.”
It was one of the many “el Clasico” encounters and Barca coach, Pep Guardiola, has won five Clasicos in a row. He has proven to everyone that his team is a class act and they can crush any opponent. He was delighted to see his team playing better than their biggest rivals, in front of a global audience of more than 500 million. Guardilo said,
“We are glad to play well. Especially the way we are known for our play.”
