Football Update: Palermo fear the worst over Javier Pastore
Palermo'a president Maurizo Zamparini has gone ahead and stated that the team was already starting to come to terms with the fact that the teams star player maker, Javier Pastore could be on his way out of the team as early as next summers.
The twenty one year old has been a stand out performer for Palermo over the last couple of seasons and as a result, he has been linked to the top clubs in Europe, with Barcelona reported to be the team ahead of the line to land the player.
Zamparini was reported to have said in an interview that until the end of season, he will play for Palermo. Despite his interest for the club and player, he is already looking for his replacement. However, he further stated that it will be impossible to
find a replacement because he is too good.
“Also, I feel it will be difficult for an Italian club to buy him. His price is already high at 70million euros – he will move abroad,” Stated
Zamparini.
“I refused 25million euros from Real Madrid. Pastore would like to play with Lionel Messi, but if an offer of 100million euros were to arrive from Roman Abramovich, I would take it into consideration.”
With the World Cup being the rebirth of the number 10 player maker, it seems like the demand for players like Javier Pastore has gone sky high of late.
Pastore stands in at six feet two inches tall and has the ability to use every inch of his body, to be one of the most creative players on the pitch.
Pastore is a clever player, who possess tremendous pace and the ability to play a lethal killer pass or two. The player can also tackle rather well for an attacking player and has the ability to turn almost any defence clearance into an attack.
Despite the player being as good as he is, it seems rather unlikely that there ever will be a bid worth a hundred million Euros for the player. With Palermo also recently spiking the player’s salary, Pastore was reported to have said that he wanted to stay
at Palermo for as long as possible. However, with president Zamparini going public with his acceptance to loosing the player, it seems like it's now more than likely that Pastore will be on his way out of the club in the summers.
Manchester City along with Chelsea were rumoured to be the two teams apart from Barcelona to be interested in the player and with the club admitting that they can't hold onto the player it seems like their would be a three way race between the teams to sign
the player.
