Football Update: Premier League News: Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea and Everton
Blackpool
Blackpool midfielder, Keith Southern has confessed that his come back to first team action was too early and should’ve waited for more time before returning. Southern added that he only did such a thing in order play in the premier league and recently featured
for more than 70 minutes in his club’s reserve team. Keith picked up the injury while playing in the pre-season at Bristol City. The player therefore missed three premier league matches and made his premier league debut while playing against Newcastle United.
However, the 29 year old confesses that his comeback came too early and should’ve taken more time on his injury. The player stated that the injury he suffered was a bad one and should’ve taken a few more weeks off. He admitted he was just desperate to get
the feel of the premier league and took a hasty decision.
Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers manager, Owen Coyle believes that any attackers playing alongside Davies would not be disappointed and would actually enjoy playing with him. The 33 year old got his first English National side call up and would be available for selection
in England’s Euro 2012 qualifiers against Montenegro at Wembley in the coming week. It was a surprise call up for a player who was being blamed as being too physical in the game and is by far not one of the brightest for his generation. Yet Coyle believes
that having the Wanderers play in the side can help the players around him get their best of abilities out.
"I think he can bring the best out of people. He can lead the line himself and if you want to play one up front with two wide he will flick things through for the wingers," said Coyle. "Not only can he score goals, he can create for others and he is
a terrific all-round player. He has so many different dimensions he can help a team. Many players have benefited from him before. Nicolas Anelka, I think, will tell you what a fantastic partner Kevin Davies was," stated the Bolton Wanderers manager.
Chelsea
Chelsea star midfielder, Frank Lampard expects to be back from injury in time for the restart of the premier league, when Chelsea faces Aston Villa in the premier league. Arguably one of the best midfielders of his time, Frank Lampard has not been able to
recover from his Hernia problem since August and have thus not featured for both club and country ever since. Owing to the problem, Lampard has not been Chelsea’s past 7 fixtures and would also be unavailable for International duty in the Euro qualifiers.
The player stated that he wouldn’t want to give any date for his return but was hoping to be back in time when the International break ends. Lampard confirmed that he’s been having a good time with the physicos and should be back by the time the league restarts.
The player joked that he becomes difficult when he’s away for football, which was both difficult for him and for his caretakers.
Everton
Everton player, Seamus Coleman was extremely delighted to score his first goal with the club and also got his first start of the career in the premier league. The starlet thus labelled 2010 to be his best year and was very excited. Coleman stated that he
was very happy to get his first professional contract at Everton. In addition, Irish national side also handed Coleman his first Cap for the national side and things couldn’t get any better for his footballing career.
"It's something I've always wanted to do, so it was a great call to get. I'm trying to impress the manager and stay in and around his plans and it's one step at a time at the moment," claimed the 20 year old midfielder.
