Everton
French full back Sylvain Distin has claimed that although Everton are off to a bad start, yet the squad doesn’t feel any sort of anxiety. David Moyes’s men have managed only one point from their first three fixtures in the new season of the premier league, which is by far their worst start in 10 years. Sylvain however, claimed that despite being in the bottom half of the league, the team’s confidence is still on a high. The defender claimed that Everton players are still looking to utilize their full potential for the overall team progress.
“We have not scored many and we have conceded one in every game but it is strange because we feel like we have been playing well. When the games have finished we haven't felt like we have been playing well and everybody is positive - we are just missing one or two little things to get the end product”, claimed the Everton full back.
The player added that it would only be a matter of time before Everton finds their true form and the squad are currently comfortable about it, not feeling much pressure.
The defender stated that sometimes, luck doesn’t favour them, which leads to disappointing results. The defender pointed towards Pienaar’s audacious shot from distance which hit the post and moments later, in somewhat of an identical move, Aston Villa scored. The defender thus claimed that all of this is part and parcel of football and that is the reason that they don’t feel a bit down. The squad has the quality and depth needed for the team to progress. The player concluded the statement claiming that they team is actually just frustrated but altogether, the team has performed really very well.
The 32 year old player has made 29 appearances since joining Everton back last year and has been phenomenal despite being in his early 30s. Everton host Manchester United next in the premier league this weekend and would be looking for their first win of the season.
