Football Update: Premier League has become very competitive- Nemanja Vidic
After seeing Manchester United away form and Chelsea’s current form, Manchester United captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 claims that Premier League has become very competitive this term.
Although, Manchester United are unbeaten in the Barclays Premier League, but they have failed to perform on road. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team has played nine away matches, out of which the Red Devils has won only two matches.
On the other hand, the Barclays Premier League champions have won only one of their last seven games in the league and are currently placed fifth in the standings.
The Red Devils won their last match against West Bromwich Albion on road, which was also United’s second away win. Nemanja Vidic feels that his team must improve their away form.
The Serbian International said: "We believe we can win the league, and we have certainly shown this season we can be solid, but this year the season is very strange. If you'd told me five weeks ago that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 wouldn't win for five or six games ... everyone
thought Chelsea were http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/The-Strongest-c40725 team and that they would win the title but then suddenly they didn't win.”
The 29-year-old added: "That shows how strong and competitive it is in the Premier League. And look how many points we have lost this season. If someone had said we would lose this many points I would have said we would not win the league, that's for sure.
But here we are, top and still unbeaten, and if we had won just half of the away games we have drawn we would have been out of reach by now."
The Red Devils skipper also claimed that he is not proud of team’s away record in this season but insisted he is happy as far as Manchester United is unbeaten. However, Manchester United have been very strong at Old Trafford, as they have won 9 and drawn one
at home.
Nemanja Vidic continued: "Normally we start getting strong at this time of the season. The only disappointing result [at Old Trafford] was the 2-2 draw against West Bromwich in October, and we have won all our other home games.. Our performances at home
have been really good and we may have some injured players back, which helps."
