Football Update: Red Bull’s Rafael Marquez Not in a Condition to Play for Mexico
After an extensive off-season of inactivity, Rafael Marquez stated openly to media that he doesn't expect to get a call from his club to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956.
On his first day of an official training session, Rafael Marquez declared that he is not ready enough to play for Mexico next month.
Rafael Márquez Álvarez was born on 13 February 1979 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983, Michoacán, Mexico. He happens to be a Mexican football player, who currently plays for the Red Bulls, New York in Major League Soccer. He is deployed as a centre back or a defensive midfielder
on the football grounds.
He began his professional career at Atlas, making his team debut in 1996 at the age of only 17. There, at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Atlas-c38538, Rafael quickly rose to the level of eminence making a total of 77 appearances. Since then, he has played for some great clubs namely Monaco,
Barcelona and eventually ended up with the New York Red Bulls.
On 2 August 2010, it was made public that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rafael-Márquez-c30372 had accepted New York Red Bulls deal, signing a 3.5 year contract with the prestigious club. It was also announced at Red Bull Arena on August 3, to the media, that Rafael was to become the club’s
third Designated Player.
Since then, Márquez has been doing a pretty great job in the club’s training sessions and matches. On 21 August, he netted in his first goal for the Red Bulls in a 4–1 triumph at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toronto-FC-c40744. Moreover, on October 21 2010, Márquez played for the Red Bulls
leading them in a 2–0 victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/New-England-Revolution-c40026. This further paved way for the regular season Eastern Conference title getting confirmed for the club.
Mexico will match against Bosnia team on 9 February 2011, and the Mexican footballer, Marquez has less than two weeks of pre-season practice sessions before the official game begins. It would surely need a miracle to get the footballer out of this one.
"I'm not in optimal conditions for the game that's upcoming," Marquez declared to the press. "I'm coming off a long period of rest and I haven't had much activity lately so that game would not be convenient for me."
Marquez has not played since the New York’s season ended in November, and he feels he would be at zero performance level against Bosnia without that consistent training. A call, nonetheless, from the team, wouldn’t be unwelcoming for him.
"If I am called in, I'll be there, even though I wouldn't have any chance of playing," he confided in.
It would be better if Marquez stayed out of the grounds for a while though, keeping the overall team’s performance under consideration.
