Football Update: Robbie Keane to leave White Hart Lane in January
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 is now certain to move away from the North London club in the upcoming January transfer window. Keane is surplus to requirements at Tottenham and Harry Redknapp is desperate to get him off, so that he can make room for a top drawer striker.
The vastly travelled striker will have no shortage of suitors. He will be available on the cheap and although he turns 31 next year, at around £6m he is considered as a good buy. The Irishman has already represented eight different clubs during his career
and a return to one of his former teams is very much on the cards.
Wolverhampton, his first club are reportedly interested in making a move for Keane. Wolves have been goal shy this season and a move could suit both parties. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 will face stern competition from the likes of Aston Villa and Birmingham City.
Both the Midlands clubs have been linked with Keane in the past and are reportedly on high alert after his availability was confirmed.
Everton is another club who are seeking a striker, as none of their strike force has been able to find the back of the net regularly this season. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085 expected to leave in January for the Asia Cup, a move for Keane could help Everton. Although
it seems unlikely as Everton are seeking a genuine centre forward.
Amongst all these rumours, there have been suggestions that Robbie Keane will be used as a makeweight in a deal to bring Andy Carroll to White Hart Lane. While Tottenham maintain their interest in Scott Parker, Keane can also be used as a makeweight to convince
former English International to move across London.
The Irishman, whose total transfer fees combined come to a grand total of nearly £75m, could make his final move of the career. The boy, who was once hailed by Marcello Lippi as the best teenager of his time, has faded away in recent years.
A move to either Villa or Birmingham would suit Keane, as both teams possess strikers, with whom he can combine to lethal effect. His days at White Hart Lane are numbered for sure, it’s only a matter of which club meets his demands.
