Football Update: Rooney’s recovery- a sign of hope for the England’s crumbled squad against Montenegro
Finally, good news for the English national football team has arrived and it is about the availability of its veteran striker Wayne Rooney, in the game against Montenegro.
According to recent news report, the twenty four year old English striker might join the English team’s squad for Euro Cup qualifier match against Montenegro which is going to be held on Tuesday 12th October. Recently it was reported that the striker was set
to be out for almost three weeks because of his ankle injury but Sir Alex Ferguson is keen and hopeful about the recovery of Rooney.
In a very recent interview, the Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his thoughts about Wayne Rooney and told the media that the twenty four year old play maker is recovering fast and can join the English national football squad for the match
on 12th October. It is to be noticed that Wayne Rooney suffered the ankle injury during the match against Bolton.
According to the sixty eight year old Manchester United boss, the striker will not be able to participate in the match against Sunderland which is going to be held on Saturday. Rooney took part in the practice session for Man United on Thursday and was feeling
confident to play against Sunderland but according to Ferguson his injury is still in the process of healing and that is why he will be given rest for the match.
Sir Ferguson seemed very concerned about the injury of his team’s ace performer and wants to utilize the talent of Wayne to the fullest when needed. When he was asked about the importance of Wayne in the team, the sixty eight year old said that Rooney is a
great talent and asset for the team. He added that it is very important for him to make sure that Rooney is fit to play because to utilize his abilities is important to get the best results for the team. Ferguson said Rooney will take one more week to get
his match fitness back and he will be available for Fabio Capello, to be selected for the English team.
On the other hand, the news about Rooney’s recovery is a boost for the English team’s Italian manager Fabio Capello as he was finding it hard to select the playing eleven for the upcoming Euro Cup qualifying match. Key English players like Frank Lampard, Jermain
Defoe and Bobby Zamora are suffering from injury issues. The absence of the major players from the team might give a strong blow to the aims and ambitions of Fabio Capello. However, the news about Wayne recovery is a sign to sigh for the Italian.
It is also reported that the English striker from the national Under-21 team, Andy Carroll has been called up for England’s senior national team to participate in the match on 12th October. Currently Carroll is playing for the Newcastle united. To play in the
Euro Cup qualifying match against Montenegro is definitely a big chance for him.
Wayne Rooney’s availability is a sign of hope for the English playing eleven but his current bad playing form is another issue which is still to be dealt. It is to be remembered that the twenty four year old striker has endured a very ordinary start for Manchester
United team and has been able to score just one goal yet. His previous performance for England is not very impressive as well but his abilities cannot be questioned as players like him can change a game in a very quick succession.
The Euro Cup qualifier match will be held on 12th of this month. When the opponent is being considered as not very tough for the England enormous capacity, the absence of its major key players can bring a massive change in the result of the game.
