Football Update: Spanish La Liga– Barcelona vs. Malaga– Second Half Report
(Part 1)
With the second half starting in the Nou Camp, Barcelona were leading the game with not one but three goals. It looked to be a one sided affair as both the teams were ready to battle each other out. Malaga totally looked to be out of the game; however, Barcelona
were trying to extend their lead in the Spanish La Liga table.
Barcelona arch nemesis, Real Madrid drew their game against the bottom of the table side Almeria and with that draw; the Catalan Giants had the opportunity to move four points clear of the Los Blancos. Josep Guardiola sent out his best men and even though
the Brazilian full back Daniel Alves pulled a hamstring injury during the first fifteen minutes of the game, the former Sevilla star Adriano took his position as a right back and provided the team with the pace that was required on the flank.
There were no changes made by both the sides. Josep Guardiola looked to be satisfied with his starting 11 as they managed to find the back of the net not once but thrice during the first half. However, the only thing that lagged throughout the game was a
goal from the highest scorer of the La Blaugrana, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296. The Argentinean was denied a few opportunities throughout the first half but he still managed to help David Villa score his first goal of the game.
With the second half starting, Malaga looked to be finding some form as they started to move the ball around. Barcelona, on the other hand looked to be playing slow as they decided to take it easy after an easy lead over the opponents. Andres Iniesta did
not move forward like he was during the first half and the two striker David Villa and Lionel Messi were the two who barely fell deep as Pedro Rodriguez moved back often to help the struggling right back Adriano. The Brazilian full back was being played on
the right despite having a stronger right foot but he was the best option that the Catalan coach had and that is the reason why he was playing in that position.
The visitors got their first opportunity after only four minutes when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique. The Spaniard slid towards Baptista but the Malaga star easily got past him and took his shot on goal
but it did not have enough power on it and Victor Valdes brought it down easily.
After a few minutes, Josep Guardiola’s men decided to take their chances on goal and it was Andres Iniesta again who made a wonderful run forward and delivered the ball to Adriano who was making a run on the right flank. The former Sevilla star crossed the
ball towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 inside the 18 yard box but missed the target completely and the visitors tried to take the La Blaugrana on the counter.
It was Duda who found the ball at his feet while being on the break and he played an outstanding long ball towards Camacho. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331 right outside the 18 yard box, soon he was surrounded by four Barcelona players, and he simply
had no way to go. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 was too eager to snatch the ball away from him and after a rash challenge on the Malaga midfielder, the referee decided to give Malaga a well-earned free kick right outside the 18 yard box.
