Football Update: Spanish La Liga Preview (Part 1)
As Barcelona, Valencia and Real Madrid are all going to be in action today, there are definitely going to be some changes at the top of the table of the Spanish La Liga. With only one point separating the three teams, they are going to give it their best
in order to maintain their position, as they are going to go out there to play the eighth round of the season. Villareal is the only Spanish side that is going to play late during the weekend; on Sunday and they are going to travel to Madrid to face Atletico
Madrid at their home.
As the Spanish giants Real Madrid won the game 2-0 against the Italian side Milan, the confidence is definitely high for the table toppers. Mourinho’s side has already won two other league games and they managed to score the highest number of goals during
the match, compared to all the other seasons. The Bernabeu fans can relax as the Portuguese manager is now in charge of the club and he has given the Madrid fans the hope that they needed for the past few seasons.
Madrid are going to entertain the Spanish side Racing Santander, and the Racing boss Miguel Angel Portugal has told the opposition that they can expect an “ugly game.” Racing has already suffered a loss at the home ground of the big guns Valencia and Villareal
but they are definitely going to try to win it as they are going to visit Bernabeu and try to topple the league toppers, Real Madrid.
Valencia were not very impressive during the midweek fixture in which they were competing against Rangers during the group stage match of the UEFA Champions League. Moreover, Valencia lost the top spot and the unbeaten record as they suffered a 2-1 loss
against Pep Guardiola’s Catalan giants, Barcelona.
Today they are going to entertain Mallorca on their home ground and the former Barcelona man and now the coach of Mallorca is going to bring his team to Valencia. Mallorca have been over impressive for the past few seasons. Last season they were only beaten
by Real Madrid at their home ground. Their away form this season has been a little shaky. Even though they dropped a few points away from home, they still managed to draw a match against the Spanish La Liga champions, Barcelona.
Mallorca have not won a single game this season but they are relying on too many draws. They have only managed to score a single goal, which was scored against the Catalan side Barcelona. Arduziz looks to be in good shape and can start for Valencia alongside
Soldado. On the other hand, Michael Laudrup is going to try the same tactics that he played against Barcelona.
Villareal had a very good opportunity last week to go top of the table, as they were to face the newly promoted side Hercules. Hercules have been very impressive this season as they even defeated Barcelona at the Nou Camp and that was the basic reason why
Villareal were held up by the newly promoted side and the match ended as a draw. Hercules are definitely going to try their best to keep the same amount of pressure on the team that they are going to face on Sunday, Atletico Madrid.
Borja Valero and Mussachio, both got a red card last week and for that reason they are both going to miss out on this weeks’ fixture. Moreover, Juan Carlos Garrido is not going to feature Angel, Marcos Senna and Marchena on his side. All three of them are
fighting fitness at the moment and they will definitely be rested in order to regain strength.
