Football Update: Tottenham Hotspur is vying for David Beckham
David Beckham is likely to join Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday on a loan deal. Apart from Tottenham, other top flight clubs are also vying hard to fetch the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international back to home country. According to Sunday Mirror, Beckham had ruled out the
possibility of going back to England on a loan deal in January. However, reportedly, European and English clubs including Sunderland, Everton and West Ham United are in line to bring the star English footballer back. far past his prime time as Los Angeles (LA) Galaxy has shown interest in the imminent move.
The exit of Beckham from American club could be triggered by English clubs but, according to sources close him, Beckham would not join Manchester City or the neighbouring Manchester United. This leaves FC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Tottenham in the race and
the latter is the strong contender to acquire him.
Harry Redknapp, Tottenham boss, is said to be a great admirer of former English captain and expect him to join White Hart Lane side before Monday on a short - term loan deal. The club had talks with the American representatives of LA Galaxy which is open
to Beckham’s exit. Redknapp was trying to resolve the insurance issues over the move as Spurs had emerged as Beckham’s preferred destination and he’d train the squad till February. After landing to White Hart Lane, Redknapp said,
“It’s too complicated with the insurance issues but David would be the best influence for other team fellows as I myself am a fan of his winning mentality. We have considered his financial commitments with LA Galaxy and would love him to be here. Everybody
would love to have him here.”
The 35 years old Beckham thanked the Spurs to allow him to train the club and further said,
“It’s extremely important that I maintain high levels of fitness during the off season and I thank Galaxy to let me do this. I am looking forward to get back to work as soon as possible.” It’s important to note that Galaxy was reluctant to allow Beckham
to go to Europe during the off season as there is a chance that he might get injured. He already recovered from a long injury at AC Milan last March.
