Football Update: Tottenham expects to finalize http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 deal by Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club is expecting to finalize a two-month loan deal for David Beckham by Sunday. Spurs have been negotiating with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 for at least a week now and it is reported that a deal has
all but settled.
Redknapp has stated that he is hopeful that Beckham will come to see Spurs FA Cup encounter with Charlton on Sunday. The Spurs boss said,
“Hopefully he will come to the game, I'm sure. I think he could be here on Sunday possibly if what I'm being told on the grapevine is right. The clubs are talking and there is a good chance it will happen.”
“I wouldn't bring him here if I didn't think he had something to offer,” Redknapp continued. “He would lift the level of the other players, people would respond to playing with him and having him around and he would be a good influence around
the place.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 midfielder has been part of Tottenham as a youngster. During his early footballing days, Beckham joined the Spurs’ School of Excellence in an attempt to harness his skills.
Beckham has been the subject of interest from many European clubs after he expressed his desire to spend a loan term in Europe. Last month Beckham revealed that he is looking for a loan deal in an attempt to prove his fitness to the English national side
manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello.
The 35 year old star has spent 2 separate loan terms at the Italian club AC Milan in the past two years. His performances for the club helped him regain a spot in the English squad. He, however, missed the 2010 World Cup due an Achilles injury he picked
during his last stint at Milan.
The same injury sidelined the Englishman for most of the Major League Soccer (MLS) season. This was reported as one of the reasons for Galaxy’s initial reluctance to allow Beckham to spend yet another loan term at a club, during the current MLS off season.
Beckham is due to report back to Galaxy in March; hence, Redknapp is eager to bring the player to White Hart Lane as quickly as possible. If Beckham’s deal with Spurs does conclude by Sunday, his debut for the club might well be against his former club Manchester
United on the 16th of January.
