The Spaniard has expressed his delight at having the opportunity to spend his life as a professional associated with the beautiful game.

The experienced trainer is a respected figure in his country and his considered one of the best managers in the world.
At receiving the award, the mentor could not hold back his pleasure and declared that football has given him everything. He expressed that his love for the sport has paid off as he was able to achieve success in it, which was his greatest desire.
Del Bosque has been able to watch his side win the FIFA World Cup and the European Championship. The two trophies are considered the highest honours in terms of international football.

In addition to his success with the Reds, the Spaniard also had the opportunity to coach Real Madrid during his illustrious career. He began his professional vocation with the Real Madrid B team and then went on to coach the senior team later on.
It was during his time that Los Blancos became known as Los Galacticos and experienced their most successful period in the modern game.
Del Bosque revealed that it had been his desire to become a successful footballer and it was realized over the course of his professional life, which is something that makes him extensively happy and proud.
"It makes me very proud, it is an honour for me," he told AS.
"Football has given me everything. When I was 16 I arrived in Madrid as a provincial kid, with the dream of becoming a footballer. Now, at 61-years-old, I can say my wishes were fulfilled, thanks to being lucky enough to belong to two fine institutions in
Real Madrid and the Spanish Football Federation."   
"All those trophies have been important, but the period I cherish the most is the 16 years I spent with the Real Madrid http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787," he added.
Vicente del Bosque is also the first Marquis of his name which was a title awarded to him by the Spanish royalty.
