Borussia Dortmund’s chief executive stressed that the clubs who do not follow the rule should be punished along with Martin Kind, as all other teams are in favour of the ’50 plus one’ model
Borussia Dortmund director Hans-Joachim Watzke insisted that the Bundesliga sides opposing the rule should be banned from the league, and also criticised http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 president Martin Kind’s vote against the model. He claimed that
the other 32 teams have agreed to keep the effective model.
The club official stated that 25,000 club supporters pay only €190 for a season ticket for the Yellow Wall standing area in the south stand of the stadium. He feels that fans' wants is the priority of the BVB and in turn helps
them in all aspects.
The CEO said that in previous years the bond between the fans and teams was similar in England to that of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. He suggested that German supporters visit the club as they are going to a family function and they feel a part of
the team.
"In former times in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 I think the relationship between the club and supporters was very strong. Our people come to the stadium like they are going to their family. Here, the supporters say: it's ours, it's my club," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The board member conceded that they have made a point to have tickets cheaper for their fans, as it makes it easy for them to attend all games. It also encourages youngsters to come who have a limited budget to spend.
"Here, it is our way to have cheap tickets, so young people can come. We would make €5m more a season if we had seats, but there was no question to do it, because it is our culture. In England it is a lot more expensive. Football is more than a business,” he
added.
Watzke revealed that they would earn a lot more if they place seats in place of the stands, but decided against it for the sake of the club faithful. He said that English people have changed their traditions in footballing regard.
