Football latest: Former Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 boss Sam Allardyce refuses to call it a day
Following his shock sacking as the manager of Blackburn Rovers, Sam Allardyce was expected to call it a day from the managerial career. However, the former Bolton Wanderers player refutes to call it a day and is keen to find employment elsewhere.
The 56-year-old was shown the door earlier this month by the new owners of Blackburn Rovers - the Indian Poultry farm Giants Venky’s. The manager spent 2 successful years at the premier league club, where he managed a mid table finish in both seasons. Blackburn was still 12th in the premier league when Allardyce was sacked and it came as a shock to all in the premier league. Many now suggest that Allardyce may well quit football altogether but the man himself refuses to turn his back from something he has been passionate about all his life.
"I said I'd retire about now but that was wrong. It's not great for your health but it is a drug. It's a lifestyle you find difficult to do without. You keep saying you might be able to do without it but you can't really. There's too much in it. It's a necessity,” stated the former Blackburn Coach.
The manager joked that his decision is not liked by his family, especially his wife, but he just cannot walk out of something which has become a way of life for him. Allardyce also ruled out a move to coach any Championship side, stating that his skill level and experience would get him a job soon.
"This was my 10th consecutive season in the Premier League but there's only Sir Alex and Arsene (Wenger) who have managed in the Premier League longer than me,” stated the 56-year-old.
Big Sam also stated he wouldn’t mind moving away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 to coach any international side, as that would further widen his horizon. It was Allardyce’s commendable effort which saw Blackburn in the top 10 last season and the side were doing pretty well this season as well. That is the reason why Allardyce was disappointed when he was given marching orders, as he thought the club has stabilized since his arrival 2 seasons ago.
"The real disappointment comes when you look back at what we have achieved over those two years,” added the former Blackburn Boss.
