Football news: Chelsea is favoured to win the Premiership – Sir Alex Ferguson
Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson has declared Chelsea as his favourite to win the Barclays English Premier League title this season. The Red Devils legendary manager has labelled that Blues are the ‘main danger’ to Manchester United.
English Giants, Manchester United were denied a record-breaking fourth English Premier League title in a row last season, as Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea finished one point ahead of the Red Devils.
Over the years, not even a single English side has won the English Premier League four times in row. Even though Manchester United were favourites to win a record-breaking English Premier League fourth time in a row last season.
The most successful club in the modern era, Manchester United, were also denied of winning the nineteenth English Premier League title last season, and this would have put them one ahead of Liverpool.
Right now, both the clubs are on a standoff in the race for the Premiership and both are on an even draw with having 18 Premier league titles.
Moreover, a similar tight race is expected this time as the clubs battle for silverware. Along with Chelsea, Arsenal has also started their campaign impressively. Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all unbeaten in the English Premier League. It will take a lot for the Red Devils to win English Premier  League this season for the record nineteenth time.

Speaking to the media, the Scottish manager of Manchester United said that Chelsea lies between them and domestic supremacy.

"Well the Barclays Premier League is such a difficult league, it's almost tribalism, you can't dismiss that impact when it comes to winning the Premier League," Sir Alex Ferguson said.

The Scottish manager of the Red Devils explained the way he approached the Premier League title, "I always look at the team that wins the league the year before, you have to be the target to try to work on, it's up the rest including us to do that and Chelsea are the champions, there's no question about that.”

Moreover, the legendary manager of Manchester United admired the impressive start of Premier League title holders Chelsea. Chelsea has maintained 100% winning record. Blues have won all five fixtures of Premier League this season.
The Scottish manager emphasized the importance of the match against Chelsea and said that the games which would be played between Manchester United and Chelsea would be of utmost importance because Premier League title would depend on those two fixtures. Last season, Manchester United lost both fixtures against Chelsea which cost them their record-breaking title.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson tipped Real Madrid and Barcelona to contest the Champions League, but declared Rafael Benitez's Inter as the "most difficult to beat.”

The Red Devils manager stated that Champion League has become the most fantastic competition in Europe. It is one of the elite competitions in the world and all the previous winners of this competition are playing in this season.
The Scot is also expecting great improvement from Real Madrid under their new, inspiring coach, Jose Mourinho. He also admired Barcelona’s style of playing and said that Barcelona would be one of the main dangers in UEFA Champions.
Moreover, Sir Alex Ferguson said, "Inter Milan [are] the most difficult to beat, so they've all got their different qualities, but it's such an exciting tournament, you can't help but look forward to it."
When asked about retirement, the Red Devils boss further refused to set a retirement date.
Sir Alex Ferguson added, "Well there's no date simply because I think that, I've said this time and time again, people my age I think retirement is for young people, because they can do something else.”

"When you get to my age then if your health is good, you like to work, simple as that."
Sir Alex Ferguson is set to break the record of Matt Busby of being the longest-serving manager in Manchester United’s history. Matt Busby was in charge of Manchester United for 25 years, 1945–1969.
