I'm joining football this year, and I'm going into a camp in two weeks or so, i know that most of the kids in the camp have never played football before, and either have I. So im wondering what kind of position i should play.

I'm about 6 foot, 200 lbs and 15 years old... not a great runner. I have played hockey for years and going into midget if that helps?

  1. well, i would say linebacker, because i played Tackle and guard,  and if an end or tackle your size tried, we would have floored you,  but that was just our league,    some leagues you would be considered a large player and play the trenches

  2. you should be a linman or as other people call it a offencife linbacker (OLB) because you are a massive guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  3. DT

  4. The coach will help you with that decision.  My son has played football and been a nose guard.  he is rather tall but they will test your abilities and choose where you should be.  You will have to earn your spot.

  5. You are pretty heavy for your age so I would say a lineman. I would of said Linebacker but you said that you are not a great runner. I think that a linebacker would need to get around. It sounds like you are very big (not fat) so you could really bulk up. Good Luck!

  6. if you have anger problems and love to kill people then defencive tackle

if you want to protect the QB with a little less pressure than DT, than offensive guard or center is right for you

just remember what ever you do at tryout give it everything if you walk off the field with energy still in you than you did not do you best.......

leave it all on the field

  7. Playing hockey has probably given you powerful legs even without speed. Along with your weight and height, they could make you  most valuable blocking between the QB and the advancing opponents line.

    IMO
