Premier League side, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ manager, Mick McCarthy is reportedly keen on signing out of favour Tottenham Hotspur striker, Robbie Keane.
A lot of English Premier League clubs are interested in signing the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 international, but Mick McCarthy wants to bring the player back to Molineux where he made a name for himself. The Irish manager faces a tough task to sign the player, as he will have a tough relegation battle to look forward to with his side lying in the bottom of the table.
However, McCarthy knows that bringing Keane back at Wolves will be a tough task, as he is not sure if the experienced striker will want to play for a club that is involved in a relegation battle.
The 30-year-old Ireland international started his career at Wolves, made his senior debut at the age of 17, on August 1997, and amazingly, scored 2 times in his first game against Norwich City. His sudden rise in the first team won approval from the then Wolves manager Colin http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lee-c21860 while excelling even more the next season and finished the 1998-99 season with 16 goals. His performances for club and country attracted interest from other clubs as Wolves were suffering financially and in the 1999-2000 season, Keane was sold to Coventry City for 6 million Pounds.
Once again, on his debut for Coventry, Keane scored 2 goals and ended a successful season with 12 goals in 34 appearances. The following season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan coach, Marcello Lippi paid Coventry 13 million Pounds as the relegated team allowed the Irish man to leave for Italy. Sadly though, Keane’s dream of recognition in Italy was cut short when Lippi was sacked and he was then loaned out to Leeds United where he went on to score 9 goals in 14 games.
His transfer to Leeds was made permanent in 2001, but Leeds’ financial struggles made Robbie Keane join the exodus gang of Leeds United players who were let go in order to stabilize the club financially.
After that, he joined Tottenham and last season he was loaned out to Celtic where he was a success as he scored 12 goals in 16 matches.
Robbie Keane is a goal scoring machine and if Wolves do get to bring him back, it will be a great addition to the squad that is currently in dire need to get out of the relegation zone.
