Football varsity versus 10 grade?

Question

My son is ins 10th grade paying football. He just got asked to move up to varsity. But he turned int down. He does want to be a pro football player one day will this effect him in the long run ? He is a right guard defense. My son loves football but i think he was a little scared at first. The varsity coached stated he already had a 4 year college ask about him. He just wants to stay with all his football player frieds the team he has now have won superbowl the last 2 years. 1 as freshman and one in a little league. So the kind of all grew up together and play very well together.

that is ridiculously stupid of him to turn down playing varsity. probably the dumbest thing ive heard today.
