my guy and me are hoping to marry at christmas time and as it's in Australia, and so hot we are thinking of a football wedding, as we both enjoy football he goes for Brisbane Broncos..I go for St George Dragons..we are both going to be wearing our jersey's and footy boots and shorts.. or bridal party will all be wearing their footy gear..as these will be our children(we have 6 kids between us).....

then a bbq for our reception...

footy- BBQ..

think this would be a great Aussie wedding..

well the thing is should we ask our guest to dress in their footy gear as well ..

  1. You can - if they all have it. But I wouldn't.

First of all, a lot of people may not have gear. Second of all, as it is going to be very hot, everyone is going to be wanting to get the stuff off as soon as possible. No need to have anyone pass out from heat stroke at your wedding.

EDIT:  Oh, then that's different. As long as there's not tons of gear, then sure, that would be fun! Football here means American football, then there is "soccer" football, and I guess there is rugby "football" too. That's just too many kinds of "football"! I can't keep up.

    :)

  2. put it in your invitations that you are doing this theme and that guests are more than welcome to wear their favorite teams jerseys, etc.  My uncle got married during the centennial anniversary of Montana becoming a state, and everyone dressed in clothing from 100 years ago.  It was really different and neat.

  3. that would be so awsome and different from all of the other boring weddings. Go for it and enjoy!

  4. by football do you mean soccor if you were in AMerica. Because if you mean american football that would be too hot. I would not do all that but it sounds cool if you are both happy.

  5. Sounds good and unique!! Go girl and Congrats!

  6. I would let them know this is your theme and just put the option out there for them to decide.

  7. Good on you.

The best weddings I have been to are the laid back ones, on the beach in our swimmers or in a friends backyard.

The Americans make such a fuss about weddings.

Not sure about were you are in Australia but I'm in Sydney & have been told this Summer will be very hot & stormy, so make arrangements just incase it rains.

  8. Will this be on CMT's redneck weddings?
