Parents like to tell their kids this; teachers like to proclaim this so that their students might pay attention better; and cartoons like G.I. Joe from the 1980s made sure kids were aware of the importance of it. It comes in many ways and can be attained in many different fashions, but no matter how you come by it the facts are clear- knowledge is power.

Knowing that the World Cup will soon be in full swing can be knowledge that some fans may not like having if they are unable to make the trip to South Africa to support their team. Plans to travel into the country can be a bit costly, a big disappointment to fans without the financial means to attend the tournament.

Knowledge of all kinds is power; the trick may be in knowing when and how to use it. That power can now be used to take you and a friend to the greatest show on earth, the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa this June.

If you feel confident on your knowledge of the finance world you may want to check out the contest that is being sponsored by Visa, Inc. Fans (with Visa cards) fifteen years of age and older in countries in Asia and along the Pacific Rim can test how smart they are with money for the chance to win a trip for two to South Africa for two preliminary round matches.

Starting April 5th and running through May 7th, fans will have the chance to enter the contest. When the month is over, the fans with the four highest scores will win a trip for two valued at approximately $12000 (USD). The best 11 will also receive a special Visa FIFA World Cup merchandise package.

The contest is being named ‘Financial Football,’ and is aimed at helping encourage people to learn more about managing their finances.

"The aim of our competition is to convey invaluable money management knowledge to students and Visa cardholders, while pitting their skills against other players for a chance to experience the fever pitch atmosphere at the World Cup," said Visa Malaysia country manager Stuart Tomlinson. (BTIMES)

FIFA.com is giving fans the chance to flex their mental acuity and win a trip for two to the World Cup through the FIFA World Football Trivia Challenge.

Each week, starting April 12th, fans can log in and answer as many trivia questions as they can. Everyone will start at Level One and work their way up as they answer questions correctly; the higher the level, the harder the questions. Of course the reward will be greater as well. At the end of each respective week, whoever happens to be at the top of the leader board will win a trip for two to the games in South Africa in June.

The winner for each week will receive airfare, a two night hotel stay, and tickets to a World Cup match. If you happen to be on top of the leader board at the end of the contest than you win a pair of tickets to not just any World Cup match, but the World Cup Finals.

Fans will need to be on top of their game if they want to win a trip. Each day every contestant will start at level one. After 500 points they advance to level 2; 1000 points on level two will take you to level three. The three levels are designed to test your overall knowledge of the FIFA World Cup. Every day users will find that their scores set back at level one making it important to return daily if they want to have a good chance at winning free tickets to the greatest show on earth!
