Footy rules - girl in distress?

Please help: whats the rules of football, i've got 10 6 yr old boy's tomorrow for an hour outside play-

Give them the ball, split them up into two teams and let them go mad.  Remember, last try wins

For yourself, open a bottle of vodka and pour down your throat.  You'll need it.

Just give your boys a footy or two or three and have a kick to kick. Unless they are part of an under 8's Aussie Rules side and want to try to play a game, they will have a good time just kicking, marking and running around.

If it was a gridiron ball here in the USA, then throwing it would also be part of the fun.

You don't need to know all the intricate rules, especillay with younger kids. Make two teams (5 each) set up a goal on either end, make one person on each team the goal keeper (they can use their hands, but no else can) the other 4 kids on each team try to get the ball in the opposing goal. After they score a goal the ball comes back to the middle. And then just let them play, they're kids give them a ball and a little supervision and they'll be fine!

I think trying to organise 10 x 6 yo boys for a game of football is gonna be a HUGE effort!!  By the time you explain the rules they will have lost interest.

I would just let them kick the ball around and just have fun.

I like deadsmur's idea with the footy jumpers .  Please make sure whatever happens though, you dont supplement  Essendon jumpers for CARLTON.

The CARLTON team will "cheat" , rules or no rules, and no matter what age the boys are, like the club chairman, fined 36 mil ,...for cheating ...its the culture of the jumper . The 10 x 6yo's , .just let the boys play ..they will make their own rules and fun.

Give 5 kid's an Essendon jumper, give the other 5 kid's a Collingwood jumper, throw them a ball & the rest will just come naturally.

You need to know nothing about footy.

All you need is a few footy's and let them go for there lives.

What you don't need is Raspberry Cordial!!!!

Hi. Touch football is very easy. Each player get a flag to hang from their pocket, can be a paper towel or rag. one team kicks the ball to the other. A person is tackled when their flag is removed. Each team gets 4 tries to make a touchdown and when someone gets their flag that is where the ball is spotted. If they don't get a touchdown in 4 tries they have to kick the ball to the other team. The rest is just improvisation and really as long as they are having fun let them add on and enjoy.
