  1. UR FACE

  2. i am a teenager and a little girl i know she is 10 and she has soooo i mean so many clothes that they have no were to put them and she don't wearll of them!!!!  I think that it is ok to have a lot of clothes but not so many that you don't have time to wear them!!!

  3. Burlap sacks.

  4. just have to say, we're reasonably well-off, but the idea of having 15-20 shirts seems ridiculous to me, unless you're counting both short and long-sleeved shirts.  my kids have about 8 days' worth of pants (including jeans and khakis), shorts (including capris), long-sleeved shirts, and short-sleeved shirts, and about 3 sweaters each.  the girls also have 2-3 dresses (which honestly they hardly ever wear).

i agree that for a 6-year-old (or anyone, honestly, though people will disagree on that), basic stuff from Sears or Kohls or something is perfectly sufficient.  i don't think there are fashion necessities for someone who is 6.  just basic pants and shirts that are good for running around in and climbing trees in!

  5. At six, I didn't wear jeans at all--only leggings and stretch pants.

Since she is so young, I don't think you'll have any trouble "paring down" her wardrobe; she's bound to grow out of more than half the clothes very quickly, so you can give them to charity or to friends' kids with no problem.

When you buy her new clothes, keep it simple--cotton and synthetic shirts that won't be a big loss if she ruins them or grows out of them very quickly, a couple cute dresses for church (not a whole closetful), some simple pants and leggings that will last her a while, cheap socks, etc.

Her looks probably aren't all that important to her, since she's so young. I think you're right to simplify her wardrobe; depending on your income, don't buy any single garment that's over a certain price, and don't buy anything too fancy. A child needs simple, durable clothes to play in, not fashionable clothes to impress her friends. Simpler is better.

  6. If your daughter is 6 years old, she's not a pre-teen!!! She's just a child. :S

For Spring: Shorts, Summer dresses and skirts (for church), t-shirts, cute tops, rain boots, sandals, sneakers, rain coat, and a jacket for those chilly days

    For Summer: Ditto Spring

For Fall Ditto Spring, but add jeans, and cute pants (like corduroys)

For Winter: Long sleeve shirts, pull over jumpers, thick tights (for church), warm dresses, warm pants and jeans, jackets and winter coats

Good Luck! Make sure you give the old clothes to good will.

    Emily, 14 :]

  7. First off get you some plastic slide under the bed storage containers to store all other seasons clothes in.  Saves space and thins out the closet.  As far as what she needs.......at least 5 pair of jeans for the school week ( shorts, capris in warmer weather) an average of 12 shirts and 3 sets of pjs.  A pair of kahki pants and a couple of nice shirts as well as a few dresses to mix up for church or a skirt with a choice of shirts.  We keep a change of clothes for all 7 days along with a few old outfits to play in.

  8. Start saving your money now! Se's going to want a lot more clothes than that whaen she's a teen

  9. Umm.

I think cute shorts, tanks, tees, and skirts for summer and capris with a light sweater for spring.

Fall jeans and long sleeve tops, add winter coat and sweaters .

Layers you can always remove for the warmer weather and you can add for colder.  I live in 4 seasons as well but with the way the world is I will be strolling down time square in a bikini.

  10. If she's 6, wardrobe shouldn't be a big deal really. She's only 6, not 12.  She hardly qualifies as a pre-teen. More or less, she's a child still. Anything cute is fine, like maybe her favorite t.v. show.

Wait until she gets older when you truly worry what she'll wear. 6 should be heaven compared to teenage years.

  11. Just basic summer dresses/skirts for the warmer weather and jeans and cute tops/jumpers etc for the winter :) nothing too fancy or anthing seeign as your daughter is only 6 years old :]

  12. Your daughter has WAY too many clothes for what? For whom?  I think your real problem here is HOW AND WHY you need to pare down.  Is your daughter competing with other first graders to have more clothes? (You mentioned she was beautiful--is she struggling to maintain that label with her wardrobe?) Does she have a lot of clothes that she dislikes and never wears?  Is she making herself happy with clothes the way some people try to do with donuts or beer?  What's really going on here?

The good thing about six-year-olds is that they grow--some of her clothes will be left behind with little opposition on her part. (Although a few kids obsessively cling to clothes that are far too small for them.)  You go to a church--that's wonderful because she understands that we need to help the poor.  Some of her clothes can be given away. Are all these clothes (1) given to her by well-meaning relatives who have no idea what she likes to wear?  Explain the problem (she has too many clothes, she likes to pick out her own) get cash gifts and use the money for something that isn't clothing related.  (2) bought by you? Clothes that she doesn't like, and she feels sort of permanently dissatisfied with her wardrobe.  Is she choosing her own clothes? If she isn't, that might help.

Another strategy for keeping the amount of clothes in the closet down is with the "one-in one-out" rule.

I hope I haven't offended you with any of my remarks, but these are situations I have seen in my own home and in others.  Many people these days (adults too) have closets stuffed with clothing they never wear, and sometimes it leaves the house brand-new. Well, maybe that's not so bad if you can get the clothes to people who want and need them. I think the main point is:  What is your community standard?  What clothes to other girls at her school and church have?  Humans are social animals, and all kids really want is to be more or less like the children around them. Talk to other mothers.  I would advise you not to go overboard and transgress that rule.  Otherwise, she will feel like a freak.

  13. She is hardly a p*****n, those are classed as 9-12 year olds, you need to cut her wardrobe down a few notches and make her go with you when you give her clothes to charity or to someone you know that needs them, shorts and tees for summer, maybe a couple sun dresses, jeans and sweaters or sweatshirts or turtle necks for fall and winter, and get her down to 2 coats and one rain coat. If she keeps going the way she is by the time she is 12 she will be the most spoilest child on the face of the freakin planet, good luck.

  14. well first of all you need to find out what clothing ur daughter likes! examples: american eagle. abercrombie, hollister if not those than clothes that has something she likes on them. ex: mickey mouse, a band, a cool design. But whatever you get make sure its appropriate for a 6 year old girl and church. And u said she has a lot of clothing. Well find the clothes she doesn't wear and throw them away or give them away... hope i helped somewhat. oh wait make sure the clothes will fit the season :shorts for summer, jacket for winter, etc.

  15. I would suggest making sure you have enough clothes to last her a week for each season and maybe 4 or 5 outfits for church to rotate monthly. The more tops and bottoms you have to mix and match makes less clothing go further. For instance, if she wears a shirt and skirt on Monday and doesn't get them all dirty, she could use the same shirt or skirt with something else later on in the week. It's good to have that week's worth just in case something happens though.

You may think that is skimping down too much, but it works for me and I'm 18. I actually only have one pair of jeans at the moment and it's too cold to wear my skirts, so I just mix and match shirts all week. No one really cares anyway; jeans are so common. If they're decorated or easily distinguished, then it may be a little different. I know my little sister (just turned seven yesterday) has fancy jeans like that. Mine are plain.

Basically just cut it down as far as you can go/want to go. You can make sure she has two weeks worth of clothes for each season if you want, or divide up what she has by weather instead. See if you can carry some things over into another season at least a little bit. You really just have to be creative in organizing what she has. I don't know what all there is, so I can't help much more than this.

Do make sure to get rid of any non-necessary items, except for maybe a few things to dress up in if she's into that. If she has 15 sweaters for instance, pick 3-5 that are the most simple and versatile. Don't keep them if they only go with one or two outfits, you know? Same goes for everything else. Just pare it down and weed out the excess. Throw the rest in some trash bags or boxes and take it on down to Good Will. Then you're done! :)

I hope you figure everything out. God bless. :)

  16. holy crao women shes 6? is she a preppy ******, sounds like it. she should have a good amount of clothes, but i mean, clothes at sears that look nice. you know little girl clothes. btw shes not a p*****n, shes 6. dont be buying clothes from buckle, and forever21, delias and sh it. thats all man.

  17. Ball park number here:

    3 dresses

    8 pairs of pants

    20 shirts

    4 sweaters (2 trendy, 2 formal-esque)

It's important that you let her pick exactly what clothes she wants.  At the risk of sounding silly, you don't want her to be a loser, do you?

  18. Break it down to 15 tee shirts, 15 long sleeves, 4 pairs of jeans (full-length), 4 pairs of shorts, 4 pairs of anything extra (like capris and khakis), and 5 dressy outfits for church.
