Hi,

I'm so glad that I was able to help you. I hope you are enjoying getting to know your new friend. :)

As for scratching posts and toys, I would be happy to help. My cats have a sisal post. They absolutely love it. You should get something that they can really dig their claws into. There are ones that are made of cardboard, and you can put them on the floor, and my cats like those, they will stretch across it and scratch. You should get one, too that stands up, so they don't use your couch and chairs instead! :) They often have a flat surface on top, or maybe a round "bed" on top that your cat will love to sit and sleep on. Cats like to be high up, and if you give him/her a place of their own, they will be happy. :)

As for toys,my cats like little glitter balls, balls with bells inside of them, feather toys, and catnip. :) They also love bubbles, and I buy them catnip bubbles. You most definetely want to get bubbles that are made for cats, the ones that are made for kids are toxic to cats. You don't want to make your cat sick. Also, don't get anything too small, you don't want your cat to swallow it. Keep things like rubber bands, string, coins, etc. out of your cat's reach. These items are really enticing to your cat, but are potentially deadly, especially strings and rubber bands, which can become tangled in your cat's intestines.

I'm happy to hear that you aren't going to declaw your cat. It is quite painful for your kitty to go through, and just a mean thing to do.

If you need anything else, feel free to ask. My cats are my best friends, I hope that you and your kitty will be,too.
