  1. st kida, richmond, malvern, and toorak

  2. anywhere out of the craters called cranbourne, frankston, west heidelberg or bradmeadows

  3. rofl cranbourne

  4. Anywhere down here to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

    Get out of Cranbourne! Yuk.

  5. You haven't explained why you dislike Cranbourne.  Therefore, anywhere is potentially a ****hole by your estimations.

If it's the fact that Cranbourne is too far from "the big city lights"... then try East St Kilda/Balaclava/Windsor/Prahran.  Close enough to the City for clubbing or dining; right in the heart of the shopping precinct (if that's your thing), and spitting distance back to Cranbourne (if you have family there you want to visit regularly).

But if the water is your thing... consider Chelsea/Aspendale/Mordialloc et al.  However, be prepared to pay through the nose for anything by The Bay.  The closer to the water (even if it's only a view)... the pricier the property.

The main thing you need to put into your equations is employment/education.  If you're going to La Trobe (Bundoora)... you don't want to live in Elwood.  Or if your job's in Richmond, you don't want to live in Moonee Ponds.  So the first thing I'd be considering is "where" I'm working/studying, and then check in that general area.

However, if you simply want to move from Cranbourne because "you're bored"... then anywhere would potentially suit you.

Personally though, I think Cranbourne's great (having lived in Poowong!).

    Good luck.
