I'm not looking for fans of the JUST the movies and definitely not looking for Heath Ledger fan.

I thought Ledger did a great job, but I also think that it would be a waste of the incredible job he did and the fantastic character that exist anyway, to discontinue the character because of the unfortunate circumstances.

I will say that I loved Ledgers performance and I've been watching his career since he was Snowy in Sweat all those years ago, but I want to hear your opinions.

SHOULD THE JOKER RETURN EVENTUALLY?

  1. personally I think we should go to new villain's. Batman has villain's who have never even been in the Movies who would be awesome to see in a live action movie. Clayface, Killer Croc, Deadshot, Black Mask, Hugo Strange, and ManBat.  It would be cool to finally get one of these guys in a movie. So let the Joker be done for now, and lets keep movieing forward, it will be a while before anybody will want to see Joker played again after Ledger's wonderful performance. In Nolan's serious of movies I wouldn't want the Joker to return. but you know there will aways be another serious of Batman movies and every one has to have the joker in one movie.

  2. i think he should be a main part of the next movie! this new joker is such an awesome interpretation of the character!

as a huge jokerxharley fan, really hope they bring in harley quinn, because it would come at the exact right time. the joker is presumably put in arkham at the end, so i really hope they focus at least a little on his life in there with harley. it would be so interesting to see the way this joker acts in that relationship.

but they definitely cannot just throw away this intriguing of a character because of the actor's death. someone needs to come in and continue the role for heath.

  3. The more and more I think about it, the more I think I'd like to see the Joker Back, but it'd have to be....different. Hugo Strange would need to be involved, and perhaps Johnny Depp playing a less deranged looking Joker who was " Rehabilitated. " Play him off as more of the 90's animated Joker, or even make him more sadistic. If you change the actor though, you need to change the character slightly.

  4. DEFINITELY! This character is so important in Batman series! You can't get rid of the character because of the unfortunate circumstances (RIP Ledger). I kept telling that all the time and people would always thought it'll be disrespectful to Ledger if they do another Joker. I was like, which part is disrespectful? I don't get it. There's a lot of example where there's a re-make of a movie and character in the industry, wasn't that disrespectful to do the original too? (Not saying Ledger is the original Joker but he sure gave us a h**l out of performance). When Brandon Lee was replaced by Mark Dacascos to be The Crow, is that disrespectful to Brandon? h**l, when Heath Ledger get The Joker part, Jack Nicholson's fan start bashing him and saying "Ledger will never surpass Nicholson's performance", where are they now? Hmm....

They don't have to make The Joker on the next movie. And even if they did, it's not like the next movie gonna be out next year right? They got a lot of time to produced and re-construct Joker character for the next movie. Sure, people will never forget Ledger performance (and so did Nicholson) but eventually, people will get over it. Of course it'll be hard to find an actor that can surpass (or match) both performance from the previous, but that's what it take to be a great actor, to at least step up from the previous incarnation. Although, it's a good time for them to bringing up some other villain like the other answerers mentioned but I still think The Joker should appeared on the later Batman movie once again.

I would love to see Robert Knepper (T-Bag from TV series Prison Break) as The Joker. Sure, he wasn't an A-List actor and only do several blockbuster movie (like Hitman) but this man is the closest to The Joker character I can think of. Look at his hairstyle, his jaw, his facial structure, even his T-Bag character kinda resembles The Joker with witty talks, cunning and showed no mercy towards people he met. As much as people would like to see Johnny Depp as the next Joker, I think he's more suitable and fit The Riddler character. Not Jim Carey version, the original version, the comics version. We don't want to see Depp wearing those bling-bling question marks tight costume right?

  5. No.

    A new villain should appear.

  6. yea but in this series of batman they should show another villain like bane, clayface, or blackmask.

  7. Yea the joker should return. Just because heath died doesn't mean they should kill off the joker. It wont be the same without his amazing performance. but to answer your question YES

  8. Are they stopping the Joker???!  They'll just find a new actor! The Joker Never Dies!!

  9. Absofuckinglutely! The Joker is more like a force of nature than an individual. How could Batman's greatest and most formidable foe not step out of the shadows at some point in the future?
