  1. 1 biomed tech repairs and installs equipment- biomed eng designs equipment

2 the overlap is surprisingly small. a biomeds curriculum is as much premed classes as they are electrical. that means that you dont even have the basic concepts of biomed. unless the place you got your EE teaches biomed classes you will be starting over. even if your institution teaches biomed classes i doubt there is much overlap. no matter where you take it, the school probably wont except any classes that are not general education classes. if you get a degree in biomed engineering expect to spend at least 3 years. if you get a two year AS in biomed it will take you less than 2 years. if you just take the 2 year option, you will most likely be top of you class. two year schools are a breeze after you have graduated a 4 year school.

of course you will need to do more research, but my advise is to go to the 2 year school. that way your resume shows that you have an EE and a biomed AS. this means that you can install repair and maintain any system. you will also have the biomed background to work as an EE in a biomed field. that will give you qualifications similar to a 4 year biomed degree in less time and a quarter of the cost. biomed eng are not specifically trained to repair or install any equipment. that means you will have a skill set that most other entry level applicants wont have. it will also help you communicate between the techs and the engineers. that has been a problem at places i have worked. techs and engs dont always get along. this could put you in a Liaison position and that is a great place to be in a company, if you want to advance.

hope that helps. some teachers at both a two year and four institution and speak with them about your options. it is never good to look to far forward if you have not found out what classes will transfer. if you can get into a 4 year program without losing 100 credit hours, then do it! if not do the two year.
