For Brazilians in USA...random question....which size shoe do you wear in usa...and what size in Havaianas???

I am living in Brazil until July...and I want to buy my mom havaianas....but I think the USA sizes on them aren't right... I use size 39-40 in havaianas..and it says "usa size 7/8"....but, in the USA I use size 9/1/2. So that can't be right!!! I wanna buy for my mom...she uses size 8 in the USA. Any help? thanks

My shoes is 8 here in Los Angeles and 39 in Rio de Janeiro

Size 7/8 are equivalent to sizes 36-37 or so.  If your size is 9 1/2 and your mother's is an 8, ignore the #s on the sandals and get her a size  smaller than the one you wear.  Buy a few sandals if you are in doubt, they are inexpensive.

my mother is also a size 8 and 38 fits her perfectly!

I am a size 9 in USA and when I go to Italy I buy shoes that are a 39. So if your mom is a size 8 then get her a 38. Good Luck

Oh" I love those sandals their so comfortable they cushion my feet well, I have the reg solid blue ones and the dark green ones and my first pair were the black ones I always were them around the house!
