  1. The thing that always struck me about Tim Russert was how excited he would get about what was happening in the political world. I watched him nearly every day on the TODAY show and there has been so much happening with the primaries. No matter what it was, he was excited about it! You would have thought he was talking about the Sabres in the playoffs or the Bills going to the Super Bowl! I just love how much he loved his job! And his excitement was contagious! Political commentaries can be so ridiculos and tedious, but not with Tim...it was actual exciting to get his take on things!

I've often thought that I didn't have a shot at making it big because I am just from Western New York...that my future would have been more promising if I had been raised in NYC or DC or LA, but Tim showed that "a poor Catholic kid from Buffalo" (as he's referred to himself) could be reknowned and meet Popes and Presidents!

One of the first things I thought was..."He is going to miss the rest of this election that he was so excited about!" Then I thought, "Oh c**p! He's not going to be here to keep me up on the election! How will I follow it now!"

I say that with the utmost respect intended. Obviously the most important loss is to his family; but I think they would like to know that people in their neck of the woods, as well as all over the country, really counted on his input and will truely miss hearing from him on TV!
