For Canon XTi users: what telephoto lens do you you like the best?

I absolutely LOVE my XTi and I now want to purchase a telephoto lens to use with it. Of course, I really like the Canon telephoto with the image stabilizer. Is there anything else that fellow XTi users would recommend? Or any other accessories that you really like with your XTi? Thanks!! :-)

  1. Well, it depends on how much you want to spend on a lens. They have them from around three hundred to around a few thousand, so budget is a very important. However, lets just assume you have five hundred or so dollars to spend ( spend it, you aren't going to regret it ) Sometimes in life you just have to splurge.

That's the Canon 70-300mm IS lens, that would be good for wildlife and so forth, it has a nice focal range of 70-300mm's, with IS, which is just as crucial, however, if you don't have that much to spend, you can also get this lens:

It's a 75-300mm lens, however it doesn't have IS, it's around 190$, you would only use this if it were really bright. But if you don't have a lot of money to spend, getting this would be Just Fine!

These are some more Canon Lenses.

  2. I would absolute love 70-200mm 2.8L IS.  It's expensive but well worth it.  Or you can get a 70-300 3.4-5.6 IS lense which a more wallet friendly, if you're not picky with you picture, you'll won't notice the difference in quality.

I have cable release for night photography and of course, not without a decent tripod and head.
