  1. After trying all kinds of cordless phones, DECT is kind of a joke, (or hype.!!) They operate on 1.9 Ghz., and I have not seen any difference in range, or interference in comparison with the others. (2.4, 5.8, 900Mhz.) I use a Panasonic, that allows 4 extra cordless handsets. I don't need 'DECT' standards.


  2. DECT phones function according to industry standards.  The 6 just implies that the new DECT-6 phones are designed to meet the DECT-6 Industry standards.

    DECT-6 phones operate in the dedicated 1.9 GHz frequency band.  DECT-6 phones do not share spectrum space with any other wireless services, as some other phones do.  Thus, they are less susceptible to RFI interference caused by sharing of services.

  3. No, they operate on 1.9GHz frequency band.
