If my mom and dad are separated from each other, and I still live with my mom and don't communicate with my dad at all, can I simply just use my Mom's income information. Or will the financial aid department or FAFSA reject my application because of this?

Thanks!

  1. Yes you can only use your mother's income . . . but here's a tip, if your dad has a lower income, you might consider that and get more money from it. Also if you get scholarships see if they can get made out to you then you could save some money because they might take some financial aid from you if they know aobut scholarships.

  2. Sorry, FAFSA requires you to provide financial information on both parents.  But it does take into consideration things like alimony, how many children in a 2nd marraige, etc.  The FAFSA attempts to make things as fair as possible.
