For Fios TV is there a way to set a timer to change the channel automatically?

For either the adapter box or the STB. I want to record programs using a timer. I don't have a DVR

The only way to do that is to have the STB & TV on, and in the IMG (Interactive Media Guide) set the guide to "Remind Me".  Then  if you are not going to be home shut the TV off by the TV, leave the STB on.  It will change when the show you want to be "reminded" of is on.  As long as you have your recording device set to record the same time as the program is on you will be all set.
