My pony 14.1 hands loves to jump... i havn't jumped her higher than 2.3 ft... but i REALLY want to jump her higher... how high do you think would be save.

  1. Just put the jump up gradually, my pony's 14hh and we jump 3f3. There isn't any set height you can't jump it depends on the pony. Just take it really slow, only a inch or so at a time then stay at that height for a month and put it up again. Don't get cocky though, if she is usually well behaved and she refuses then it's probably means it too high for her, same goes if she constantly knocks it down. Don't over fase her because it could put her off jumping all together.

    If your pony has drive, and if you have patience, there is no reason why you can't jump higher.  Just take your time and dont rush! Sounds like you have a great horse!

  3. 14.1 isn't that small.  I've seen about a 10 hand pony jump 2'3," so I'd say you could safely go up to 2'9 to 3' with your pony.  There's horses that jump 6 foot and apparently it's "safe."  So long as you're not too big for her, I think she'd be fine to jump a little higher.
